And Now For Something Completely Different
On Saturday 4th October the Friends of Broadwater & Worthing Cemetery http://www.fbwc.co.uk/ are holding a tour that might interest Sussex Drinker readers. Conducted John Vaughan, the tour tells the story of many of Worthing's publicans, who are buried in the vast cemetery, and the pubs they ran, many of which have long since closed. Meeting at 10.45 for an 11.00am start, the tour includes some of Worthing's more interesting past publicans, outlining their life stories and detailing their eventual demise.
